Mr Silas Zuma, the Executive Chairman of TRANSFARMS in association with Mr Mokaba Mokgatle, the Manager of TVET and CET Division of the  Department of Higher Education [GP and FS Regions] and Dr Modise Manota,  the Chairman of  Gauteng Community College Council  have pleasure in inviting  you to register for the “Implementation of the National Policy on Community Colleges – Foresight, Innovation and Leadership Program” a  two day program presented by Dr Bill Cockayne, Lecturer at Stanford University,  and a seasoned  executive who has held senior roles in advanced research and products development

The program tools and methods developed at Stanford University focuses on developing Foresight, Innovation and Leadership capabilities among Community College Leaders for the implementation of the National Policy on Community Colleges .

The program will be used to assist Provincial  Community College Administration Centres to implement the National policy on Community Colleges in their respective Provinces in partnership with other role players within the community education and training sector. The Certificate will be issued by the Innovation leadership Board in Silicon Valley, California

The Foresight, Innovation and Leadership program is designed to introduce simple and powerfully structured tools to enable leaders to create viable and innovative alternatives. During the two days, participants will draw upon design innovative tools, the skills sets needed for great leadership and implementation of policy.

Participants will include a limited number of Leading Academics, Community College  Leaders, Sector Education and Training Authority Leaders,  Leaders from Government, Leaders from the Private Sector as well as  Leaders from Civil Society Organisations who are willing to participate in the implementation of Community Colleges policy. The workshop will be participatory and participants will work in small groups using structured tools to determine practical and implementable steps toward the development of Community Colleges in South Africa.

The outcome of the program will be a Core Group of Leaders who will support the development of Community Colleges as a new Institutional type within Higher Education and Training sector . More importantly, the program will equip this Core Group with ways, tools and techniques it can put into practice  when assisting  Community Colleges Administration Centres to implement the National Policy . Participants will depart engaged and inspired to identify unforeseen opportunities and to play an active role in supporting policy implementation.

The program is underwritten by the Institute for Leadership Development in Africa  in association with  Technology Innovation Agency [TIA], an agency of the Department of Science and Technology and Regenesys School of public Management and will be held at Regenesys School of Public Management in Sandton over a period of  two days.   There is no charge for admission to the program, however it is by invitation only.

Interested individuals must complete the program application form below and successful candidates will receive a notification of acceptance to the program and will be expected to make  their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
